The only issue with Windows Server 2008 is the way it handles permissions on services, so the change is the process we use to run it as a service.
Install and configure QXLink Server as you normally would. I recommend doing at least one workstation to make sure it is all done correctly.
After QXLink Server is installed and working as a user process you need to install setup_QXLink_Server_Service_Regstration_Util.exe
After it is installed press the "Service - Registration." button. After this button is pressed and every time it is pressed you need to add this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\QXLinkServer\Parameters]
"Application"="C:\\Vieworks\\QXLServer.exe"
replacing "C:\\Vieworks\\QXLServer.exe" with the proper path to the exe file.
You can then use the Start Service and Stop Service buttons to start and stop the service....
This method will not allow you to see the icon in the system tray. In order to change settings you will need to open this program and stop the service and then use the button below that to start the process normally. When done with that be sure to close it as a user process and restart the service using the buttons in the utility.
